FISHERMAN’S PARADISE
Dining at its best!
Owner Yvonne Leger has every right to be proud of her restaurant; the Fisherman’s
Paradise establishment has a great reputation.
The restaurant first opened its doors in November of 1977.
Let’s face it, we don’t often see a restaurant in the middle of an
industrial park; however, the Fisherman’s Paradise on the corner of Champlain Street and Dieppe Boulevard. is one of
the finest examples that you’ll ever find. The quality of food and superior service, along with just the right ambiance,
makes the Fisherman’s Paradise a truly exquisite dining experience. The business people in the Park are fortunate to
have such a distinguished dining location right at their doorstep.
In 1991, Mrs. Leger was named Woman Entrepreneur of the year for the Greater Moncton
Region and in 1993, the Dieppe restaurant won a national award for THE CLEANEST KITCHEN IN CANADA.
Tributes and recognition of this nature do not come about by accident. Dedication,
devotion, managerial ability, and entrepreneurial spirit are only part of the requirements needed to be successful in this
business.
Fisherman’s Paradise has played host to many well-known personalities, including
Jean Chretien, Paul Martin, Daniel Johnson, and Kim Campbell, among others. This fine dining establishment is also home to
various service clubs and trade associations such as the Transportation Club of Moncton and the Rotary Club of Dieppe.
In an article for DIMENSIONS MAGAZINE, Leslie Harrison wrote: “When Yvonne
Leger opened her first Fisherman’s Paradise restaurant, she didn’t act much like a business owner. She was working
so hard she often forgot she actually owned it.” The article continued, “Yvonne is extremely considerate and kind
to her friends and family. There’s not much she wouldn’t do to help a friend, but she’s no pushover. She
knows her business and she gets very indignant when someone tries to put something over her. She has an innate sense of weeding
out the good from the bad, and she’s not afraid to do it either!”
Atlantic Canada needs more entrepreneurs like Yvonne Leger. In addition to creating
employment, she gives local people and visitors the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic dining experience. She genuinely cares
about her business by always making sure that QUALITY is at its best. There is no doubt that all personal and entrepreneurial
characteristics are part of Yvonne Leger’s personality.
